New Colony Theater |
On Friday, November 5th, the HCE will present a concert entirely of
works by John Winsor at the New Colony Theater in Olde Towne Portsmouth. The
program will include the following works:
- Reflections for clarinet, horn, trombone, violin, cello, and piano. (world premiere)
- Trio for clarinet, cello, and piano.
- The Norwegian Lady for soprano, clarinet, cello, and piano.
- Quartet for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. (world premiere)
- Decade Divertimento for clarinet, horn, trombone, violin, cello, and piano.
Performers will include Rita Addico-Cohen, soprano; Marlene Morvaji Ford, horn;
Robert Ford, trombone; Dionne Wright, cello; John Winsor, clarinet; Jeanette Winsor,
piano; and an as-yet unspecified violinist.

John and Jeanette Winsor performed on the February 14th NACUSA/Mid-Atlantic
concert at Hampton University. John and Jeanette played John's A Valentine
and they were joined by Dionne Wright in the world premiere of John's Trio for
Clarinet, Cello, and Piano. Other composers whose works were performed included
Adolphus Hailstork, Jeraldine Herbison, Harvey Stokes, and Walter Ross.
